Punto Banco Baccarat

In this variant of Baccarat players can choose whether to place their bets on the player ( Punto ) or to direct them instead to the dealers ( Banco ).

In fact, these are the only two possible bets in this variant of the online casino games and being its peculiar feature they give it its name: Punto-Banco .

The bets made by the players on the “ Punto ” or on the “ Banco ” pay once the amount wagered, while the bets on the “ tie ” pay 8 times the amount wagered. A commission of 5% can be applied to bets placed on the bank.

The rules

At Punto Banco Baccarat you can play with 2, 4 or 8 decks of cards and after this is dealt the players start the betting round and the value of the ace is only one point.

The other cards follow their face value up to 9, while the 10 and face cards are worth 0 points.

Each hand the dealer deals two cards to the player and two more to himself and if the player scores 8 or 9 through the two cards he wins the hand, unless the dealer ties his point.

The natural and the player’s actions

The hand with an initial score of 8 and 9 is called ” natural “, but not only, in fact ” NATURAL ” is also defined as the hand in which the player through the two cards gets a score of 6 or 7 points, and when the player has a “ natural ” in his hand, he cannot ask the dealer for other cards.

On the other hand, if the two cards dealt by the dealer add up the score of 5,4,3 or 2 points the player can receive another.

However, if the third card brings the score above the maximum 9 points, 10 points will be subtracted from the final result; once the player has performed all the actions at his disposal, the ball passes to the Bank.

The game actions of the dealer

The game action is strictly regulated:

  • In case the dealer on the first hand gets a score of 7 points he cannot draw any more cards.
  • In the event that the dealer on the first hand gets a score of 6 points he must necessarily draw another card if the third card drawn by the player has a value of 6 or 7.
  • In the event that the dealer on the first hand gets a score of 5 points he must necessarily draw another card if the third card drawn by the player has a value of 7.6, 5 or 4.
  • In the event that the dealer on the first hand gets a score of 4 points he must necessarily draw another card if the third card drawn by the player has a value of 7,6,5,4,3 or 2.
  • In the event that the dealer on the first hand gets a score of 3 points he must necessarily draw another card if the third card drawn by the player has any value apart from 8.
  • If the dealer’s point on the first hand is 2.1 or 0 the dealer draws another card.

Single Deck Blackjack: The 52-Card Variant

This version of the game of Blackjack involves the presence of a single deck of 52 cards which is shuffled before each hand is played .

Cards from 2 to 10 have their face value, while face cards are worth 10 points and the Ace can be worth both 1 and 11 points, generating the difference between soft / hard hands (as we have already illustrated in the article on the rules of Blackjack ).

The dealer has the obligation to request a card when his hand is a soft 17, while he must necessarily stop his action when he has a hard 17.

Double Down in Single Deck Blackjack (Double Down)

The doubling of the bet is allowed only if the player has a hand with an overall score of 10 or 11.

The bet with which you proceed to double up must necessarily be equal to the initial bet.

After requesting the ” double down ” the player will be dealt a further and final card.

The Split in Single Deck Blackjack

The player can split ( split his hand), if the cards that were initially dealt to him have the same value.

Splitting the starting hand allows the player to double their stake and play both hands simultaneously.

If the player makes the “split” of two aces, he can request only one card for the two divided hands, while instead he has split two cards other than the aces he has no limits in requesting other cards.

Insurance

In the variant of Blackjack Single Deck it is possible to buy the so-called Insurance when the dealer’s visible card is an ace.

The cost of the insurance is half of the player’s initial stake.
